  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 large ripe tomato sliced
  • 4 oz fresh mozzarella sliced
  • 6 –8 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze or reduction
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Toast the Bread:
  2. Lightly brush the bread slices with olive oil or butter. Toast in a skillet or panini press until golden and crisp.
  3. Assemble the Sandwich:
  4. On one slice of bread, layer mozzarella, tomato slices, and fresh basil leaves.
  5. Season:
  6. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper, then drizzle lightly with balsamic glaze.
  7. Finish:
  8. Top with the second slice of bread and press gently. Slice in half and serve immediately.
